Net zero

Our commitment to net zero
Theta Sleep is committed to achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 for emissions scopes 1 and 2 and a subset of scope 3 (see below). The commitment was made on 30/06/2025 by the Board of Directors.
Theta Sleep do not own any property or vehicles so do not have any scope 1 or 2 emissions. Our scope 3 emissions include:
- Upstream & downstream transportation and distribution of equipment.
- Waste generated in operations.
- Business travel & commuting.
- Employee and subcontractor home working.
We have already implemented a number of measures to reduce our carbon emissions:
- Digital-first communication: all communication is conducted via electronic means where possible (unless specifically requested by patients/customers), reducing waste and transport costs.
- At-home service delivery: all sleep studies and treatment are delivered to patients homes, reducing carbon emissions due to patients not needing to travel to and from a location to collect equipment.
- Sustainable equipment use: we promote the use of reusable and recyclable sleep study equipment from our suppliers, minimising waste and lifecycle impact of our devices.
- Limited business travel and commuting: undertaking this only when necessary.
We hope to implement further measures in the future. These include: sustainable procurement policies, employee travel policies, sustainable remote working procedures, IT footprint optimisation, and equipment life cycle management.
